The newly rejuvenated WHT Mead building opened to celebration and fanfare on Sept. 28 with Lakeland leaders, dignitaries and guests gathering for a ribbon cutting.

Lakeland College’s alumni magazine, The Excel, was recognized with an international 2022 Circle of Excellence Award by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Dr. François Paradis has taken the helm of Lakeland's applied research department, bringing with him 20 years of experience in the agricultural and livestock sectors

The Emergency Training Centre  welcomed a new dean, Lakeland alumnus Shawn McKerry.

Beyond the classroom

Walker Balan and Wylee Squair, two students in the first cohort of bachelor of agriculture technology program students, spent their summer on practicum, working with Lakeland's research team and herd of bison. 

Carpentry apprentice Tyler Bendfeld brought home provincial gold at Skills Alberta and national silver at Skills Canada.

Before she graduated, Khyler Yockey, Class of 2022, competed provincially and nationally, wining provincial gold and national bronze in aesthetics.

Second-year environmental sciences students spent the week exploring local grasslands, lakes, rivers and wetlands, as well as venturing to Edmonton and Hinton, for Field Week.

Grade 10 students from St. Jerome's School celebrated 20 years of career and technology studies at Lakeland.

Shawn Sales enrolled in Lakeland's sustainable energy technology program looking for the technical information to make his solar farm dreams come true.

Alumni spotlight

Jana Teefy, recent environmental sciences graduate and Governor General Award recipient, is soaring in her dream career.

Interior design technology graduate Brea Holt’s kitchen design placed second in the 2021-2022 National Kitchen and Bath Association competition from nearly 200 designs submitted from across North America.
